Remote Controlled Training Wheels
These remote controlled training wheels automatically lift and lower the wheels while the child is riding their bike.
Our Mission: Teaching a child to ride a bike is difficult, especially for aging parents and less able-bodied guardians. How might we make the transition from using training wheels to riding on two wheels as seamless and fearless as possible for both the user, and those assisting them?
What We Did: We designed and 3D printed a wheel arm attachment that is connected to a Nema stepper motor. When actuated, the motor rotates, and the wheel arm lifts the wheels off the ground. To actuate the wheels, we used an RF sensor and reciever.
