Zespri
My Role: As the designer and engineer for our team, I became a SME in all systems plastic - from pellet formation, to temps for ideal viscosity, to PET wavelength for optical recycling detection. I produced all the CAD models, keeping aesthetics, ergonomics, and feasibility front and center, while thinking ahead on how design to scale through current manufacturing and recycling infrastructure. The result: a polished, production-ready deliverable that married functional engineering with a compelling recyclable design.
Consulting for Zespri
Zespri needed to get 100% recyclable by 2025. We were there to help (and snag a couple kiwis along the way…great brainstorming fuel!)
Advised Zespri’s Global Packaging and Design team to ideate, prototype, and deliver an alternative to clamshell packaging by pivoting to Injection Stretch Blow Molded (ISBM) containers (same as water bottles). Over the course of 5 months, our nimble team of 8 generated a deliverable of new, innovative, and standout designs using ISBM technology to help them reach this goal.
